The Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai held a grand two-day celebration to commemorate their centenary on May 25th and 26th, 2024. Over the course of the event, thousands of devotees and 145 monks from the Ramakrishna order participated each day.
Day 1: A Day of Reflection and Spiritual Enrichment (May 25th)
- The festivities commenced with a special puja held in the Math’s main temple.
- Revered Swami Divyananda ji Maharaj, along with other esteemed monks and lay devotees, shared their cherished memories of the Math’s journey.
- The evening program featured a soul-stirring flute recital by Pt. Nityanand Haldipur, enriching the atmosphere for all attendees.
- A special excursion was arranged for the monks, allowing them to visit the Siddhivinayak Temple and experience the newly constructed Atal Setu Coastal Undersea Tunnel Road.
Day 2: A Grand Celebration with Dignitaries and Performances (May 26th)
- The second day witnessed the presence of esteemed guests. Shri Ramesh Bais, the Honorable Governor of Maharashtra, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President, and Swami Balabhadrananda ji joined as Special Guests.
- The program included inspiring speeches delivered by dignitaries and revered monks.
- Renowned artistes, Pt. Nayan Ghosh (sitar) and his son Ishaan Ghosh (table), enthralled the audience with a captivating musical performance.
The celebration proved to be a resounding success, uniting people from various backgrounds in a spirit of shared joy. It served as a remarkable testament to the Math’s century-long dedication to spiritual growth and philanthropic service. In total, 144 monks and 2600 devotees came together to mark this momentous occasion.
