Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, celebrated the centenary of the Ramakrishna Math Charitable Dispensary on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025. Established in 1925 as a modest facility, the dispensary has now grown into a modern, well-equipped institution.
To mark this significant milestone, Most Revered President Maharaj inaugurated the newly renovated Sarada Dental Block, and Shri M. Subramanian, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated the new Vivekananda Pharmacy.
Following the inaugurations, a public meeting was held. Swami Satyajnanananda, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, delivered the welcome address. Participants and speakers included Swami Jnanavratanandai (Trustee, Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math), Swami Atampriyananda (Pro-Chancellor, RKMVERI, Belur Math), Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chettiar (Industrialist and Philanthropist), and Dr. Uma Sekhar, Vice Chancellor, Ramachandra Institute of Medical and Research Center. The event was attended by around 600 well-wishers, including dispensary doctors and volunteers, who have been instrumental in the dispensary’s growth and service. Most Revered President Maharaj concluded the meeting with benediction.
The event concluded with a benediction by the Most Revered President Maharaj, followed by an enriching Hindustani musical concert by Dr. Dattatreya Velankar, an accomplished Hindustani Classical performer and academician from Bangalore.
