Commemorating Swami Ramakrishnanandaji Maharaj’s First Visit to Bengaluru on 19 July 1903

Spiritual Procession and Grand Inauguration (19 July)
The celebration began on 19 July with a spiritually charged procession from Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station to Ramakrishna Math, Halasuru. Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President of the Ramakrishna Order, flagged off the procession at 7:30 AM. Devotees walked with bhajans and Vedic chanting, creating a devotional atmosphere through the streets of Bengaluru.
Upon reaching the Math, the Inaugural Session was held at Sri Sarada Devi Sabhangana. The programme included:
- Vedic chanting by students of Trayee Veda Vidyalaya
- Devotional bhajans by renowned singer Sri Biswajit Paul
- Welcome and Keynote Address by Swami Bodhaswarupananda
Inspiring Talks by Eminent Speakers
The forenoon session featured talks by:
- Swami Tyagishwarananda on the History and Journey of Halasuru Math (Kannada)
- Sri Chakravarthy Sulibele, Founder, Yuva Brigade on the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Movement in Karnataka
- Sri Tejasvi Surya, MP, Bengaluru South, who expressed his admiration for the spiritual legacy of the Order
- Benedictory Address by Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj
Bhajans and Arati were performed at 1:15 PM, followed by lunch prasad for all attendees.
Afternoon and Evening Sessions
The afternoon included:
- Bhajans by Sarada Satsanga Kendra and Swami Tadyuktananda
- Talks by:
- Sri Biswabandhu Chattaraj (English)
- Swami Nityasthananda ji on Ramakrishna Order and Its Method of Working (English)
- Swami Muktidananda ji (Kannada)
The evening session in the serene ambience of Sri Ramakrishna Temple featured:
- Devotional singing by Kshemankari and Kamakshi Satsanga Kendras
- A spiritually elevating talk on the Upanishads by Swami Sukhatmananda
- Sri Ramakrishna Arati, bhajans, and distribution of prasad
