“Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam”, a Tamil monthly published by Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, conducted the concluding function of its Centenary Celebrations on 24 March 2023 with various programmes for students, youth, women, and devotees.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the centenary of this popular regional magazine could not be celebrated earlier, and therefore, it was organised along with the 125th-anniversary celebrations of the Chennai Math. 5 books compiled from the popular articles of the magazine were released at the opening session. This was attended by around 400 people, mostly youth.
On the same day, four different conventions were also organised: 1) a Youth convention attended by about 450 youth, 2) a Women’s convention attended by about 370 women, 3) a Symposium on short story and essay writing, attended by about 120 people, and 4) Convention on Music, Dance, and Drama, attended by about 200 people. The programme concluded with a public meeting which was followed by a rendition of Devotional songs also attended by more than 300 people.
Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj presided over the programme and gave his benedictory address. A large number of books, mementoes, laminations, and statues of Swami Vivekananda were presented to the dignitaries, participants, volunteers and so on. This meticulously organised program was received with an overwhelming response by students in spite of the exam season.
