On December 9, 2024, Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, the President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math consecrated the newly built prayer hall and inaugurated the Monk’s Quarters at Ramakrishna Math, Ahmedabad, located on the new site at Lekhamba village. This auspicious event coincided with the Janmatithi (birth anniversary) of Swami Premananda ji Maharaj. The dedication ceremony featured a special puja for Sri Thakur, Sri Sri Ma, Swamiji, and Swami Premananda ji Maharaj, along with devotional songs and cultural programs presented by artists from various parts of India. Approximately 126 monks from across India and abroad participated in the function.
In a public meeting held on the same day, Sri Bhupendrabhai Patel, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, graced the occasion, congratulating and extending his best wishes to Ramakrishna Math for the successful establishment of its new site in Lekhamba. The meeting was presided over by the Most Revered President Maharaj, and several eminent speakers expressed their deep satisfaction with the event’s success.
Sri Narendrabhai Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, sent a pre-recorded message along with his greetings, which was broadcasted during the program. Sri Amit Shah, the Hon’ble Home Minister, also sent a complimentary message for the occasion.
The three-day-long celebration marking the Consecration Ceremony and the Inauguration of the Monk’s Quarters concluded successfully by the grace of Sri Sri Thakur, Sri Maa, Swamiji, and in the blessed presence of Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj. The monastic members and devotees of Ramakrishna Math, Ahmedabad, felt deeply blessed by the gracious participation of Most Revered President Maharaj.
Around 30,000 people attended the event over the three days, receiving prasad. This momentous occasion holds significant importance in the history of Gujarat, particularly Ahmedabad.
