COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services by Ramakrishna Mission, Visakhapatnam


Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Visakhapatnam is continuing the COVID-19 pandemic relief services.

The Centre distributed dry ration kits to 936 families and sanitary and hygiene items to 800 people from 29 March and 05 May 2020. Total items distributed:  Rice 16450 kg, Dal 1136 kgs, Onion 72 kgs, Potato 1522 kgs, Oil 1236 litres, Chili Powder 129 kgs, Tamarind 236 kgs, Salt 1000 kg. Tomato 50 kg. Brinjal 2930 kg, Ladies fingers 590 Kg, Dry peas 200 kg, bottle gourd 160 Nos., Termic Powder 3600gm, Biscuits 800 packets, 700 water bottles, 800 Energy drinks.

Sanitary and Hygiene items

The centre distributed (a) Hand Sanitizers 800 bottles (100 ml) (b) Hand Gloves 100 nos. (c) Face Masks 50 nos. Vim Packets 400 Nos. 400 Santoor Soap Among 800 persons and 400 families between 29 March and 19 April 2020. (Police personnel and cleaning staff in and around Visakhapatnam district).

On 26 April 2020, the centre distributed dry ration kit to 320 families in 13 villages namely Buddigara, Tenkta  valasa, Gangavaram,  Ubala,  Gajjela Garuru, Pendiri mammidi, Tarangam, Nakulamamidi,Vantarba, Jampattu,  Addatiga,  Jalada,  potakadavada – in Anantagiri Mandal of   Vizag district.

In the wake of lockdown owing to COVIDp-19  pandemic, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Visakhapatnam started relief services.  The Ashrama distributed biscuits, water bottles, energy drinks to 800 people  ( migrant labourers ) and also distributed 600 pcs sanitizers.

The Ashrama distributed food materials consisting of Rice, Dall, Vegetables to 30 families in  Bhavanapadu village in Srikakulam district and to 200 families in 6 villages like Koditala in Hukumpeta Mandal in agency area.
