In continuation to the COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi distributed food packets and drinking water bottles on national highways to 1500 migrant workers returning from Mumbai, Pune, Surat and Hyderabad on 17 May 2020.
Items supplied were Chana Sattu – 300 kg, Salt – 20 kg, Onion – 100 kg, Green Chilli – 25 kg, Biscuits – 3000 pkts, Sweets – 150 kg, Water Bottles – 1500 nos.
Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi started COVID-19 relief services in and around Lohara village, Sonebhadra district. At the Lohara village, Swami Vivekananda health services in the form of Mobile Medical Units, Telemedicine Unit and field level work is going on from the last 15 years.
The ashrama did relief services from 2 April 2020 to 30 April 2020, and provided ration kits (Atta – 1000 Kg, Biscuits – 2650 Pkts, Chana – 1250 kg, Curd – 75 kg, Dal – 2425 kg, Masks – 3723 pcs, Mustard Oil – 870 Litres, Potato – 900 kg, Rice – 5050 kg, Salt – 610 kg, Soap – 3096 pcs, Soyabean – 100 kg, Spices – 20 kg, Sugar – 210 kg, Sweets – 4500 pcs, Vegetables – 40 kg) to 2405 families of Varanasi, Mirzapur (Patewar, Manik & Rampur villages), Sonebhadra (Lohara village) districts.
An isolation ward is being set up at the hospital for Coronavirus patients.
