Covid-19 Pandemic Relief Services By Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram

 


Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram, started the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic relief from 23 March 2020.

Till 21 April 2020, the ashrama has distributed ration kits to 6541 families in the Jhargram Municipal Ward nos. 1,2,5,6,9,10,11,12,13,16,18, Vill. Ananada Pally, Dubrajpur, Pukuriya, Dompara, Chalak Para-Lodhashuli, Nedabehra, Baghjhapa, Birihandi of Aguibani Gram Panchayet area.

While rendering services, special emphasis was given to the Toto Drivers, Maidservants, Daily-wage labourers.

The following items have been distributed during the period from 23 March 2020 to 21 April 2020 :

On 29 March, the ashrama Secretary and volunteers visited the Ward No. 11 and 17 of Jhargram Municipality area, and Chalak Para of Lodhashuli. Food packets containing rice, dal, potatoes, turmeric powder, milk powder and biscuits, have been distributed among 200 families who are really in need of such support.

Monks, branmacharins, teaching and non-taeching staffs of the Ekalavya Model School, and local volunteers rendered services in this critical situation. The district administration and police helped in overall smooth operation of the relief services.



Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, started relief services to ease the sufferings of the underprivileged families in the Jhargram area from 23 March 2020, due to lockdown for the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Every day, on an average, 200 packets of food items are being distributed. The packets contain 3 kg rice, 1 kg dal, 2 kg potato, milk powder and biscuits.

Jhargram Ashrama also arranged a special awareness camp and training programme for the students on COVID-19, on 14 March 2020. The students were advised on the basic protective measures against the new coronavirus. Also they were taught on how to make face mask using tissue papers and rubber bands.
