Dedication Ceremony of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Institute of Values: Gurugram


Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Institute of Values, Gurugram, the first centre of the Ramakrishna Mission in Haryana, was inaugurated on 2 November 2022, the sacred Jagaddhatri Puja day, by Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Vice President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.  A three-day function from the 1 to the 3 November 2022 was held in this connection attended by around 1,500 devotees and 150 monks.

A public meeting on the topic “Ramakrishna Mission – 125 Years Saga of Service” was held on the first day. Swami Suviranandaji, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, was the Chief Guest and Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji was the President of the meeting.  There were also bhajans and discourse on Ramcharitmanas in the morning by monks of the Order.

On the 2nd morning, there was a Prabhat Pheri i.e. a procession of monks in which three senior monks of the Order carried the pictures of Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji with the other monks following them chanting and singing bhajans.  Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji performed the dedication ceremony, after which the other assembled monks offered Pushpanjali at the new shrine.  This was followed by an elaborate puja and homa.  Our Swamis sang bhajans in the temple and there was also a discourse on Ramcharitmanas.  In the afternoon Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, inaugurated the auditorium and was also the Chief Guest in the public meeting on the topic “Education according to Swami Vivekananda”.  Revered Swami Suviranandaji and other monks also spoke and Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj gave the presidential address.  In the evening there was a Hindustani classical music programme by Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, one of the leading Hindustani classical vocalists of the country.

On the 3rd day morning, there were programmes of bhajans by our monks and there was also a public meeting on the topic “Awakening values through education” in which our monks and Shri V. Srinivas, a subject expert, spoke.  Spiritual aspirants were given initiation by Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj in the morning.  In the afternoon there was another meeting on the topic “Sadhana according to the Holy Trio” in which Swami Balabhadrananda, Assistant General Secretary, and other monks spoke and Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj gave the benedictory address.  The function came to a close with a bhajans programme by two artists associated with the Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi.
