The Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, was honored by the visit of Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, on March 26th, 2025, for the dedication of the “Skill-Up” project. This significant initiative, valued at Rs 1.3 crore, encompasses infrastructure development for the Residential High School and provision of equipment for the lab of the Polytechnic College. The project was generously sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras Mount through a Rotary-CSR grant.
Swami Satyajnanananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, graced the occasion and delivered a special address.
Several dignitaries from the Rotary Club of Madras Mount addressed the gathering, including Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra, District Governor; Rtn. ISAK Nazar; and Rtn. L. Neela Kandan, Chairman. The speakers drew parallels between the ideals of the Rotary Organization and the Ramakrishna Mission in their shared commitment to human welfare and universal peace, inspiring the students present.
A particularly distinguished guest was Rtn. AKS Ram N Rama Murthy, an esteemed alumnus of the Students’ Home and a member of its Management Committee, who generously donated the entire project cost. In his address, he inspired the current students by highlighting the bright future ahead and emphasized how their growth within the Home could empower them to contribute meaningfully to society, echoing his own journey and gratefully acknowledging the Home’s pivotal role in his success.
Swami Dharmishthananda, Secretary of the Students’ Home, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors, well-wishers, teachers, alumni, and volunteers for their tireless efforts in the successful implementation of the “Skill-Up” project.
The dedication ceremony was further ennobled by the presence of 59 Sadhus and Brahmacharins from various Centres, followed by a Sadhu Bhandar. Cooked Prasad was distributed to approximately 1000 participants, making the occasion truly memorable.
