Distress Relief: Malda, April 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Malda


Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Malda, continued its ongoing Distress Relief Programme every Sunday at the Ashrama campus, and extended Refugee Relief to displaced families at Parlalpur village, Kaliachak block, during April 2025. The following distributions were conducted:

  • 6 April 2025 – Malda Mission Campus
    Items: Rice (25 kg), Potato (50 kg)
    Beneficiaries: 75
  • 13 April 2025 – Malda Mission Campus
    Items: Rice (25 kg), Potato (50 kg)
    Beneficiaries: 82
  • 15 April 2025 – Parlalpur Village – Hindu Refugee Relief
    Items: Soap, Surf (177.5 kg), Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Towel, Biscuit, Hair Oil, Shampoo, Cake (355 pieces each), Baby Food (52 pieces), and 5680 shampoo sachets
    Beneficiaries: 407
  • 20 April 2025 – Malda Mission Campus
    Items: Rice (25 kg), Potato (50 kg)
    Beneficiaries: 87
  • 27 April 2025 – Malda Mission Campus
    Items: Rice (25 kg), Potato (50 kg)
    Beneficiaries: 90
  • 30 April 2025 – Malda Mission Campus
    Items: Rice (25 kg), Potato (50 kg), Mustard Oil (20.5 kg), Soyabean (8.2 kg), Sugar (8.2 kg), Mug Dal (8.2 kg), Sattu (16 kg)
    Beneficiaries: 82

On 15 April 2025, the Ashrama provided vital relief to 355 individuals and 52 children who had taken refuge at the High School in Parlalpur, Kaliachak, after being displaced due to communal disturbances in Dhuliyan, Murshidabad.

Each of the 355 adults received essential relief items including soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, detergent powder, gamchha, hair oil, biscuits, and cakes. Additionally, 52 children were provided with Horlicks and baby food packets.

These relief materials, being of immediate need, brought considerable relief and comfort to the affected families during a time of crisis, in alignment with the humanitarian ideals of the Ramakrishna Mission.
