Dyslexia Training Programme : Vijayawada

Dyslexia is a Specific Learning Disability (SLD) in one or more areas of reading, spelling and writing. It is a hidden condition and teachers require special training to identify and take care of children suffering from Dyslexia.

In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram/Vijayawada, in association with Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA) organized a six-day Dyslexia Training Programme for primary teachers.

Th programme was conducted from 6 – 11 May 2019 at Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram.

62 teachers from 9 schools participated in the training program. As per the recommendations of MDA, the programme was restricted to few participants,  to enable extensive interactions during the training sessions.

Four resource trainers to conduct the programme. The Teachers underwent this interactive and activity-based training program very enthusiastically with 100% attendance and punctuality on all days.

Teachers expressed that this was an excellent program and they are very much eager to implement the ideas learnt in the program to make dyslexic children on par with other children.

A practical handbook for teaching children with specific learning disabilities provided by MDA. Gems from Teachers of World’s Religion books and Certificates were distributed to the participants.
