Tailoring vocational training empowers women
A vocational training center in tailoring has been operating at the Ramakrishna Mission, Karimganj since 2022. By May 2024, the program has trained 70 women from economically backward communities, equipping them with skills to earn a living. To further support these graduates, three trained women were provided with sewing machines on May 5, 2024.
Supporting Families Devastated by Karimganj Storm
On April 22, 2024 there was a bad storm in Karimganj District and Many people’s houses got badly damaged. Karimganj centre surveyed the houses and found 5 families whose homes were almost destroyed by the storm.
These families are very poor and rely on daily work to make ends meet.
Since they urgently needed roofing materials to fix their houses, you (or someone you know) gave them a total of 90 sheets of corrugated iron (C.I. sheets) and 8 rigging materials (possibly for supporting the roof) on May 2nd, 2024.
