In the 7th International Karate Championship 2023, 3 students of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya (EMRS), Jhargram, secured 3rd position in ‘KATA’ event held at the Netaji Indoor stadium on Sunday, 30 July 2023. The competition which saw the participation of 12 countries was organized by Global Seishinkai Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation, and approved by the Karate India Organization and Bengal Olympic Association. The students are: Tamalika Hembram – Class X; Trisha Mandi – Class X; and Srabani Mandi – Class IX. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamata Banerjee, felicitated the students in a function held at Jhargram on 9 August and gifted each one of them a Tab.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal also felicitated Mousami Tudu and Saraswathi Baskey who stood first in the state in the Higher Secondary Examination among students having Santali first language during the Viswa Adivasi Diwas program held at Jhargram on 9 August 2023. They were given a laptop and a school bag.
