There was a fire break out on 17 June 2022, due to leakage of LPG gas cylinder near Kalibari Housing Area, Digboi. Monks of Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi, visited the affected families and surveyed about the losses. The survey cited two houses that were partially burned down.
On 19 June 2022, a relief initiative was taken by Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi, where necessary food materials along with utensils and garments were distributed among the affected family as a token of help to continue with their existing small scale business as soon as possible. The distributed items were as follows:
