Flood Relief: Imphal, June 2025

Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal, Manipur

In response to the devastating floods in Manipur, Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal undertook an extensive flood relief initiative from 4th to 6th June 2025, reaching out to 892 severely affected families, benefitting approximately 4,780 individuals.

The relief was carried out in two phases:

  • 4th June 2025: Relief kits distributed to 410 families (approx. 2,376 beneficiaries)
  • 5th & 6th June 2025: Relief reached another 482 families (approx. 2,861 beneficiaries)

Each family received a kit containing the following essentials:

  • Rice – 10 kg
  • Pulses – 1 kg
  • Sugar – 1 kg
  • Mustard Oil – 1 kg
  • Soybean – 1 kg
  • Milk Powder – 200 gm
  • Tea Powder – 400 gm
  • Ngari (fermented fish) – 200 gm

This effort aimed to provide urgent food relief and nutritional support to flood-affected families during a time of great hardship.

In continuation of these efforts, a follow-up survey was conducted to identify 32 families (198 individuals) still in urgent need. On this basis, household relief materials were distributed as follows:

  • Pressure Cooker – 1 (5 litres)
  • Big Mattress – 1
  • Small Mattress – 1
  • Bedsheets – 2 (1 big, 1 small)
  • Pillows – 3
  • Pillow Covers – 3
  • Mosquito Nets – 2 (1 big, 1 small)
  • Steel Plates – 8 (4 big, 4 small)
  • Glasses – 4
  • Batis (steel bowls) – 4
  • Big Spoons – 2
  • Medium Spoons – 2

These follow-up materials helped provide basic household stability for the most impacted families, reflecting the Mission’s compassionate commitment to holistic and ongoing relief.
