Flood Relief: Medinipur, October 2024

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Medinipur, West Bengal


Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Medinipur, undertook a significant flood relief operation in the Ghatal block region on October 2nd and 3rd, 2024. The Ashrama distributed essential relief supplies to a total of 1000 families (500 each day) in the affected areas.

The relief packages included rice, lentils, biscuit packets, muri, chira, sugar, salt, detergent, soap, toothpaste, Amul milk, mustard oil, turmeric, and chili powder. These items were distributed in the following villages:

  • October 2nd: Dhudher Bandh, Srirampur, Sudambata, Nischintapur, Panchghora, Jaynagar, Basudebpur, Garhpratap Nagar, Balarampur, and Gurudas Nagar.
  • October 3rd: Ajab Nagar, Baroda, Nirmal Bazar, Dandipur, Udaypur, Ratipur, Shibpur, Hazrapara, Balaramgarh, Thabapur, Maricha, and Ranir Bazar.

All these villages are located in remote areas, approximately half an hour away from Ghatal Town by car.
