Ramakrishna Mission’s Relief Efforts in Flood-Hit Tripura

In response to the devastating floods that have affected the state of Tripura due to heavy rainfall and the opening of the Damboor Lake’s lock gate, the Ramakrishna Mission in Viveknagar, Agartala, has launched extensive relief operations. With the city of Agartala and other districts experiencing severe waterlogging, the Mission has initiated primary relief efforts in affected areas, as suggested by the District Administration.

Additional Notes:

  • On August 24, a medical camp was organized at the Pratapgarh English Medium School Relief Camp, providing medical assistance to nearly 200 patients. The District Magistrate of West Tripura personally oversaw patient care.
  • On August 25, Shri N Indrasena Reddy, the Honorable Governor of Tripura, visited one of the relief camps at Pratapgarh, Agartala, where Viveknagar Centre has been providing services since August 22.
  • The Bhava Prachar Parishad Ashramas have also conducted primary relief work in flood-hit areas such as Belonia and Bishramganj.

Ongoing Relief Operations:

  • The Ramakrishna Mission continues to provide essential supplies, including food, water, and medical assistance, to affected communities.
  • Additional relief efforts are being planned and implemented as needed.
