Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, celebrated the Foundation Day of the Ramakrishna Mission with devotion and enthusiasm on May 1–2, 2025. The two-day event included a blend of spiritual, educational, and cultural activities that brought together hundreds of devotees and well-wishers.
Day 1: Thursday, May 1, 2025
The inaugural day was marked by a vibrant series of spiritual and intellectual sessions. The programme included:
- Vedic Chanting
- Devotional Songs
- Reading from Swami Shishya Sangbad by Swami Pravarananda
- Guided Meditation by Swami Shivapremananda
- Lecture on “Sangharupi Ma Sarada” by Swami Jitmohananda
- Lecture on “Responsibility of Ramakrishna Mahasangha and Household Devotees” by Dr. Sameer Kumar Dasgupta
- Vote of Thanks by Shri Mihir Banerjee
A notable highlight of the day was the launch of “Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa”, a special initiative aimed at providing education to underprivileged girls.
Over 300 devotees participated in the celebration. Tea and snacks were served to all attendees.
Day 2: Friday, May 2, 2025
The second day featured an inspiring musical narrative:
- Giti Alekhya – “Chicagor Pathe Swami Vivekananda” performed by Surpeeth, Kolkata, under the guidance of Sri Sushanta Dutta
The event also included:
- Vedic Chanting
- Devotional Songs
- Guided Meditation
The programme drew over 350 devotees, who were also served tea and snacks.
