On February 24, 2025, Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi, in collaboration with Drishti Netralaya Eye Hospital and the National Programme for Control of Blindness, successfully conducted a free cataract detection camp on its campus.
A total of 41 individuals registered for the camp. Due to various factors, including late arrivals and pre-existing conditions, 29 participants underwent comprehensive eye screenings. Among those screened, 18 individuals were diagnosed with cataracts.
Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, 12 patients, who were present and deemed suitable for surgery, were selected to receive free cataract surgeries at Drishti Netralaya Eye Hospital. The surgeries were performed successfully on February 26th and 27th, 2025, providing these individuals with restored vision.
