On 13 August 2019, a public meeting was organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal at its new Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (G.A.P) unit at Kha Mamang Leikai, Ningthoukhong, Dt. Bishnupur, which was attended by many dignitaries and local public along with the G.A.PÂ students and their guardians. The Patriot’s Day, a historic day in Manipur calendar, was also observed on the occasion.
The M.L.A of Ningthoukhong constituency, Sri Govindas Konthoujam, was the Chief Guest for the function. Sri Hopson Sapam, Superintendent of Police, Dt. Bishnupur, Smt. Neeta Arambam, Deputy Commissioner, Dt Bishnupur, Sri M. Harekrishna, Commissioner to Govt. of Manipur, were invited as Guests of Honour along with Sri P. Dhanakumar, Retd. IPS & President of our Managing Committee.
Colourful cultural dance programmes & Patriotic Songs were performed by the Students of G.A.P. at the beginning after which public addresses were delivered by the dignitaries. Uniforms & Footwears were also distributed to the G.A.P students on the occasion. The function went off very well and was attended by more than 400 people & all were served with refreshments at the end.
The programme was conducted in Meitilon, the Manipuri language, and organised with great help from G.A.P teachers and local club members, who also, through their talks, informed the gathering about the functioning of the G.A.P project and how it aims for all-round development of the underprivileged kids of their area. The other dignitaries, some of whom being ex-students of our various institutions, spoke about history, aims & ideals of the Mission and asked the local community to offer full co-operation in running the G.A.P project.
