The inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Hyderabad Math was held on 11th, 12th and 13th February 2024.
On 11th February, the sacred birthday of Srimat Swami Brahmanandaji Mj, there was special worship of Sri Ramakrishna, Homa, Bhajans, Temple parikrama and talks on the life and teachings of Swami Brahmanandaji. In the specially erected homa pandal, Sri Sri Chandi Homa was performed from 6.00am to 12.30pm. All the devotees were served lunch prasadam. About 4000 devotees participated in the puja and homa and other events throughout the day. In the evening there was a sitar recital by Pt Nayan Ghosh from Mumbai followed by a public meeting presided over by Swami Tattvavidananda. Other senior monks who are former monastic members of Hyderabad Math spoke on the occasion. About 1000 devotees participated in the evening session.
On 12th February, a special spiritual retreat was organised, which consisted of bhajans, meditation, reminiscences by former monastic members and nearly 500 devotees participated.
On 13th February, the ashrama organised a youth convention to commemorate the golden jubilee anniversary and the 131st anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s first public address in Mehboob college. About 2000 youths participated in the youth convention consisting of music, chanting, inspiring speeches on the message of Swamiji. All the youths were served lunch and a book on the life and teachings of Swamiji was presented to everyone.
