Himachal Pradesh Flood & Landslide Relief Work: Shimla, July – August 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Shimla


Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Shimla, conducted extensive relief operations for the families affected by floods and landslides in Mandi district. A total of 500 families from 17 severely affected villages in Seraj and Gohar blocks were served.

Relief Measures

  • Shelter Support: 600 heavy-duty tarpaulins and 176 roof sheets provided for protection of homes and cattle.
  • Lighting & Communication: 650 solar lanterns with mobile charging units restored basic connectivity in villages.
  • Safety Aid: 1000 pairs of rubber gumboots distributed for safe movement in flooded areas.
  • Children & Education: 600 school dress sets, 500 notebooks with pens, and umbrellas supplied to school-going children.
  • Food & Essentials: Blankets, clothing, and pulses distributed in collaboration with local support groups.

Impact
The relief operations ensured immediate shelter, safety, and essential support for the affected families. The distribution of school materials and dresses helped children resume their studies with dignity. Despite heavy rains, blocked roads, and disrupted communication, the Mission volunteers persevered to deliver timely assistance, bringing much-needed comfort to the distressed families.
