The Senior Team of Ramakrishna Mission Football Academy of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, became Chhattisgarh State Men’s League Champion and qualified for the I‑League 3rd Division. The I-League is the men’s second-tier of the Indian football league system.
All over India total 25 teams qualified for I‑League 3rd Division and were distributed into 5 groups with 5 teams in each group. The tournament of Group-E was held at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur from December 1 to December 9, 2023 in collaboration with All India Football Federation (AIFF).
The teams were:
1) RKM Football Academy, Narainpur, Chhattisgarh,
2) Bhawanipur FC, Kolkata,
3) Garhwal FC, Delhi,
4) Kerala United FC, Kerala, and
5) KIYC FC, Manipur.
One team from each group qualified for the next round. The Kerala team qualified from group ‘E’. RKM Football Academy’s performance though the team was not qualified, was commendable and the specialty of the Ashram team was that all our players were tribal children of Abujhmarh and have shown better performance and defeated Manipur. All the matches of the tournament were live streamed on YouTube channel.
