Dr Manas Ranjan Bhunia, Hon’ble Minister in charge for Environment & Water Resource Investigation and Development, Govt. of West Bengal inaugurated several projects at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram.
The projects were implemented with the financial assistance of ₹40 lakhs sanctioned by the Department of Environment, Govt. of W.B. under our Green School program in our school campus on Thursday, 13 April 2023. Mr Sasim Barai, Special Secretary, Dept. of Environment, Sri Sunil Agarwala, District Magistrate, Jhargram and senior officials from Water Resource Investigation and Development department were present on the occasion.
The projects inaugurated are:
1. Butterfly Garden,
2. Herbal cum Medicinal Garden
3. Tree Library.
4. Bio-Digester for Solid Waste Management
5. Plastic Bottle Crusher
6. 20 KWp Roof top solar power plant
7. Wall Garden
8. Vermi-compost Unit
Dr Bhunia also announced the sanctioning of a few more projects for the school on this occasion.
The projects are as follows:
1. Rain water Harvesting
2. Waste water recycling units (2 units)
3. Drip Irrigation system for Butterfly and Medicinal Plant gardens
4. Setting up of an Agro-Shed Green House for a nursery
5. Orchid Garden
6. Cactus Garden
