Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Salem has initiated a weekly leprosy treatment program in collaboration with the Salem Leprosy Department. The clinic operates every week from 9 AM to 12 noon.
Two volunteers from Chennai Math have been deployed to provide medical care to leprosy patients. Since its inauguration on August 16, 2024, by Dr. Dharmalingam, Additional Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (Leprosy), Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu, the clinic has already treated 28 patients. The first camp held on July 30, 2024, saw 15 patients receiving treatment.
Officials from both the Chennai and Salem Leprosy Departments were present at the launch.
