On December 9, 2024, the newly constructed kitchen block and the renovated dining hall of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in Manasadwip were inaugurated on the sacred Janmatithi of Swami Premanandaji Maharaj. The ceremony was graced by Swami Durgatmananda ji, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Bamunmura. Swami Pranananda ji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, and Swami Ishteshananda ji, of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, were also present.
To mark the occasion, the Ashrama organized a Swami Vivekananda Sammelan for Class XI and XII students from ten selected schools on the island. A total of 206 students attended the event. The discussion topic was “The Role of the Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda in Upgrading the Standard of Our Daily Life.” The Sammelan was presided over by Swami Durgatmananda ji, while Swami Ishteshananda ji, Headmaster of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, delivered the keynote address. Revered Swami Pranananda ji, Secretary of the Ashrama, and Shri Sandip Kumar Sinha, Headmaster of Jamaibati High School, Hooghly, along with two students, also spoke on the subject.
Morning tiffin and noon prasad were served to the students and teachers, with a total of 491 people partaking in the noon prasad.
