The Governing Body of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, has affiliated the centre at Shyamsayer (Burdwan) and agreed the proposal of transfer of the properties of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Shyam sayer. The formal handing over ceremony of the Ramakrishna Mission, Shyamsayer, Burdwan was held on 24 August,2019 (Janmashtami tithi). Revered Swami Suvirananda Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, was the Chief-Guest of the ceremony. A good number of devotees, students, monks and admirers took part in the morning procession, which started near the Bardhaman Dental College. At 10 am the general meeting was started with Vedic chanting by the monks. After the opening song by Swami Shivadhishananda, Welcome Address was delivered by Swami Ajneyananda, followed by short speeches of few dignitaries. After the speeches, certificates were distributed to students for various extra-curricular activities. Later Swami Suvirananda ji delivered his Presidential Address in the meeting. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Swami Tadvidananda. The meeting came to an end by the closing song of Sri Samiran Makar. Special puja of Sri Sri Thakur was performed on this occasion, and prasad was distributed to the devotees.
