The newly built Monks’ Quarters, Sri Maa Saradadevi Bhavan (Centenary Building for Residence of Monks), was inaugurated on Wednesday, 21 June 2023 morning on the premises of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Society at L-Road, Bistupur, Jamshedpur by Srimat Swami Girishanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission by unveiling the memorial plaque amidst Vedic Chanting by the monastic members of the Ashrama. Srimat Swami Vagishanandaji Maharaj, former Vice President of our order had laid the foundation of this building on Thursday, the 16th August 2018.
Special Puja of Sri Sri Thakur and the Homa were performed in the Ashrama Shrine by Swami Tattwavidananda ji, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission. A Sadhu Bhandara was organized on this occasion.
In the evening 5 pm, a memorial meeting was held in the thoroughly renovated conference hall, Swami Akhilatmananda Memorial Hall. Swami Nityadipananda of Delhi Ashrama read out the benedictory messages of Most Revered President Maharaj and Revered General Secretary Maharaj. Swami Amritarupananda briefed the audience about the inception, early struggle and present activities of the Jamshedpur centre. Srimat Swami Tattwavidananda ji Maharaj delivered a speech on this occasion. Srimat Swami Girishanandaji Maharaj was the Chief Guest of this function and delivered a speech on the occasion.
Each floor of the five storied Centenary Building was dedicated and bold signboards affixed in memory of:
a) Srimat Swami Bhuteshanandaji Maharaj (Swami Bhuteshananda Block— Ground Floor)
b) Srimat Swami Adinathanandaji Maharaj (Swami Adinathananda Block—1st Floor)
c) Srimat Swami Vireswaranandaji Maharaj (Swami Vireswarananda Block—2nd Floor)
d) Srimat Swami Yatiswaranandaji Maharaj (Swami Yatiswarananda Block—3rd Floor)
e) Srimat Swami Gambhiranandaji Maharaj (Swami Gambhirananda Block—4th Floor)
In the ground floor, a meditation hall, named Swami Vijnanananda Meditation Hall, was dedicated in the name of Srimat Swami Vijnananandaji Maharaj, who stayed in this Ashrama on that place in the year 1935.
The Guest House for the monastic members of our order was renovated thoroughly and made fully air conditioned, was named as “Swami Nirvanananda Sadhu Nivas” in the hallowed memory of Srimat Swami Nirvananandaji Maharaj, who used to stay in that building for about a month every year since he became the Vice President of the order of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission.
