Inauguration of Swami Gambhirananda Charitable Primary Health Centre : Nabadwip, March 2024


On March 29, 2024 Friday Swami Gambhirananda Charitable Primary Health Centre was inaugurated at Swami Gambhirananda Bhavan of Ramakrishna Mission Nabadwip, situated at 10, Tamaltala Road, Nabadwip on the auspicious occasion of the birth tithi of Swami Yoganandaji Maharaj, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Deva. 

Swami Nirantaranandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Gurap inaugurated the centre. Swami Amareshwarananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip; Dr. Siharan Chakraborty, President, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip; Sri Sabyasachi Mondal, Vice President, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip; Shri Sandip Pal, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip; Shri Pundrikaksha Saha, M.L.A., Nabadwip; Shri Tapan Kumar Chatterjee, M.L.A., Purbasthali Uttar; Shri Biman Krishna Saha, Chairman, Nabadwip Municipality; Dr. Swapnil Bhowmik, Dentist; Sri Nityananda Das, Physiotherapist; local municipal councillors and other dignitaries were present in the august assembly. 

In 2012, Late Pranballabh Basak and Smt. Saraswati Basak of Tamaltala, Nabadwip donated this building to the then Sri Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samity in memory of one of their loving sons, Late Bholanath Basak, who passed away at a young age. Since then this centre has been used for various relief works. After Sri Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samity being taken over by the Ramakrishna Mission, the building was named after Swami Gambhiranandaji, the eleventh president of the Ramakrishna Order. 

After several renovations recently, multi-purpose services including Charitable Primary Health Centre will run here to serve the needy people. On this day, 20 very distressed widow mothers were served with ration kits containing groceries and other items for one month. At the same time, a financial assistance of  Rs. 5000  was given for the treatment of a patient from a distressed family.
