Inauguration of Vivekananda Study Centre and Youth Convention : Raipur, August 2023


Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Ashrama, Raipur, organised a Youth Convention on 13 August 2023 in commemoration of the 125th foundation year of Ramakrishna Mission, and the inaugural function of ‘Vivekananda Study Centre’ at the ashrama premises.

The Vivekananda Study Centre was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, in presence of the monks and dignitaries and devotees.

After the inauguration, the youth convention was started at Vivekananda Satsang Bhavan.

Swami Avyayatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Ashrama, Raipur, gave an introduction to the speakers who sat on the dias.

Swami Vyaptananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur, delivered a lecture on ‘Role of Youth in Nation Building’. He said, ‘All round development of youths is necessary for nation building.

Dr. Omprakash Verma, Secretary, Vivekananda Vidyapith, Raipur, delivered a speech on ‘How to build a character’. He said that self-confidence and sacrifice are the key to building character.

The chief guest, Swami Suvirananda ji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, delivered a speech on the ‘Role Model of Youths – Swami Vivekananda’. He explained the ideas of Swami Vivekananda to the youths for the bright future of the nation. He gave many examples of patriotic saints, and narrated the story of mountaineer Arunima Sinha and the rich man Rockefeller which were very much inspired by the audience.

Dr. S. K. Singh, former Vice Chancellor, Shahid Mahendra Karma Vishwavidyalaya, Bastar, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, who was the president of the meeting, concluded the function by telling the incidence of Chandrayaan-3 which is travelling to the moon at present.

Swami Prapattyananda gave the vote of thanks.

265 students and 220 devotees were present at the function.
