Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi, organized a grand programme on the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21 June 2022. The chief guest in this program was Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Union Minister, Tribal Welfare, Government of India. The event was held in Khunti at morning 5 am. About 8500 students, women and men participated in it. Apart from this, about 14000 students and women participated in the yoga practice program at 51 centers run by Ramakrishna Mission, Morabadi, Ranchi. Everyone watched the address of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and took a pledge to practice Yoga.
Mrs. (Dr.) Mahua Maji, Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP, participated as the chief guest in the prize distribution program in the auditorium of Ramakrishna Mission, Morabadi, Ranchi at 2.30 pm and presented prizes to the winning children in the state level yoga competition. This was a state level yoga quiz and Suryanamaskar competition, in which about 6500 children from 24 districts of Jharkhand participated. Other dignitaries included Shri A. K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Jharkhand addressed the gathering by appearing online. Shri S. K. Satpathy, presently the head of the State Human Rights Organization shared his experiences in this meeting and emphasized on the superiority of Karma Yoga. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Medical Director, Paras H.E.C. Hospital, Ranchi, in his address told the importance of yoga in medical system. Mr. R. R. Panigrahi discussed yoga in detail through presentation. The winning trophy for group performance in yoga was presented to the children of Getalsud and the runner-up trophy to the team of young girls of Soso by the chief guest.
The program was conducted by Smt. (Dr.) Parineeta Singh, Lecturer, Yoga Department, Ranchi University, and vote of thanks by Shri Amit Kumar, Secretary, Indian Institute of Yoga, Jharkhand Chapter, Ranchi. The program was presided over by Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Ranchi. Swami Bhaveshananda ji reiterated the resolve of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram for “Yoga Yukta Jharkhand Rog Mukta Jharkhand” in his messages. He emphasized on the physical, mental and spiritual development of all sections of the society through Yoga.
