Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, joyfully celebrated International Yoga Day in the early morning hours of 21st June 2025 at the Home’s playground.
Around 600 students from both the High School and Polytechnic College participated with enthusiasm. The students demonstrated a variety of yogasanas, reflecting physical discipline, focus, and devotion to the ideals of yoga.
Dr. R. Natarajan, Assistant Commissioner of GST and Central Excise, Chennai, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the importance of yoga in modern life, especially for managing stress and achieving mental clarity.
Swami Jnanaswarupananda delivered an inspiring talk emphasizing the need to integrate yoga into daily life—not just as a physical exercise but as a spiritual discipline leading to inner harmony and self-realization.
Swami Dharmishthananda, Secretary of the Students’ Home, delivered the benedictory address.
The programme was received warmly by all and concluded in a solemn and uplifting atmosphere.
