Intrafaith Conference: Hyderabad, May 2023


On 27 May 2023, Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad organized an INTRA-FAITH RELIGIOUS CONFERENCE on the theme ‘UNITY IN DIVERSITY’, a unique and special conference on the different facets of Hinduism on the occasion of the concluding celebrations of the 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission.

Sri Ramakrishna’s message has brought about a great deal of harmony among the Hindu sects, and Sri Ramakrishna became the symbol of the unity of the Hindu Religion. On the occasion of the 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission, the religious leaders of the different branches of Hinduism were invited to share the precepts of their philosophies so that the general public and devotees can gain more insights and inspiration in strengthening the roots of Sanatana Dharma. The following were invited to speak: Swami Atmapriyanandaji a Senior Monk and Pro-Chancellor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur Math, Padmabhushan Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami ji, Hyderabad, Swami Tattvavidananda Saraswathi, Vice-President, Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Saylorsburg, USA and, Acharya Veeranarayana N.K. Pandurangi, Professor and Dean, Vedanta Faculty, Karnataka Samskrit University, Bengaluru.

The conference started with Vedic chanting and a bhajan by the monastic members of the Math. Later all the guest Swamijis lighted the sacred lamp. Swami Bodhamayananda honoured them with garlands and introduced all the Swamijis to the audience.

Acharya N K Pandurangi spoke on Dvaita philosophy, Sri Sri Sri Tridandi China Srimannaryana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji explaining the insights of Sri Ramanujacharya’s Vishishtadvaita philosophy, referred to Sri Ramakrishna as an embodiment of all philosophies and isms.

Swami Tattvavidananda Saraswathi while speaking on Advaita philosophy stressed more on the ‘neti, neti’ aspect of sadhana as mentioned in the Upanishads, so that the seeker will gain a positive experience of uniting with the ‘iti’ which is the para brahman.

Swami Atmapriyananda explained nicely about the Ramakrishna and Vivekananda Vedanta Tradition. He explained how Physical Science is based on Vedic principles which are realized by Rishis. He also explained the Ramakrishna Mission is spreading the message of Vedantic living since 125 years to the world for the upliftment of human nature to experience the divinity within for peaceful co-existence as expounded by Sri Ramakrishna.

About 1000 devotees of various traditions participated in the conference.
