Jagruti Cultural Competitions
In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada held Jagruti Cultural Competitions for the IV to X class students of Guntur, Krishna, West Godavari and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh.
The competitions were held in three levels – School level, District level and Final level.
More than 40,000 students from 350 Schools participated in these competitions. All the participants were given Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses books.Prizes were awarded to the student participants.Books were included in the prizes. Certificates of appreciation were given away to the finalists. Winners received prizes in the function held on 15 December 2018, on Students’ Convention.
Students’ Convention
Students’ Convention for VIII – X std. students was held on 15 December 2018 from 09:00 am to 03:30 pm. Several eminent speakers addressed the students on Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses. Cultural programmes performed by the School students were highly appreciated. Swami Sashikantanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada; Swami Satyadevanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai; Swami Santimayanandaji, Ramakrishna Mission, Rajahmundry; Swami Sevyanandaji, Swami Sannivasanandaji, Swami Yatidharmanandaji, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada; Sri Amirapu Natarajan, Secretary, Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samithi, Bapatla and Sri Vijay Kumar, Coordinator, Education Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh addressed the gathering. 700 students, parents and teachers of various schools took part in this function and made it a grand success. Vijayaniki Margam (Way to Success) books and cards with Swami Vivekananda’s sayings were distributed to all the participants.
