Manasadwip: Amphan Cyclone Relief Services


Ramakrishna Mission Manasadwip started Amphan cyclone relief services to aid families affected by the Cyclone Amphan which wreaked havoc on 20 May 2020.

After conducting primary relief, the ashrama is now engaged in rebuilding roofs of the broken houses of 199 houses of Purushottampur and Raspur villages of Sagar block. In addition to it, the Manasadwip ashrama will also rebuild walls of 6 houses completely damaged by Amphan super-cyclone.

1. Till date the ashrama has rebuilt 24 houses in Rashpur village.
2. Building materials have been distributed for 92 houses of Purushottampur villages. The ashram also distributed 36 polythene sheets to the needy.
3. Work on rebuilding 10 houses of Rashpur and Purushottampur villages is in progress.
4. The ashrama has distributed 200 kg flatten rice, 100 kg sugar, 200 packets of biscuits 100 kg of chola sattu, 100 kg of Muri, 40 kg of milk powder, 100 kg of musur dal, 60 kg of soyabean, 100 lt of mustard oil, 100 kg salt among 200 families of Rudranagar village on 25 June 2020, with the financial help received from Sri Ramakrishna Vivekananda Sevashrama, Durgapur.


The centre provided shelter to 1100 persons and served 14,337 plates of cooked food to 2865 families in Purushottampur, South 24 Parganas district, from 19 to 23 May.
