Maternity and Child Welfare Services: Kailashahar, May – Jun 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kailashahar, Tripura

Under the Maternity and Child Welfare Services project funded by Infosys Foundation, Ramakrishna Mission, Kailashahar conducted two impactful health camps to serve underprivileged expecting mothers and children.

The first camp was held on 18th May 2025 at Manuvally Tea Estate, where 26 expecting mothers and 30 children availed medical and nutritional support. The services were rendered by 2 doctors and 6 health workers, who ensured timely assistance to all attendees.

The second camp was organized on 8th June 2025 at the Dispensary of the Kailashahar Centre, targeting beneficiaries from the Gram Panchayat areas and slums under Kailashahar Municipal Council. This camp witnessed the participation of 64 expecting mothers and 173 children, attended by 3 specialist doctors and 19 health workers. Additionally, hemoglobin and blood sugar levels were tested for 5 pregnant women.

In both camps, free medicines were distributed to children (Amoxicillin, Cefixime, Multivitamins, Albendazole, Paracetamol, cough syrup, ORS, Pantoprazole, O2 syrup, etc.) and to pregnant women (Iron Folic Acid, Calcium, Paracetamol, Cefixime, Amoxicillin, Multivitamins, Pantoprazole/Rabeprazole, Amlodipine 5mg, ORS, O2 syrup, etc.). They were also provided nutritious food items (milk/curd, sugar, eggs, fruits, soybeans, biscuits, vegetables, Horlicks, etc.) and toiletry essentials (toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, detergent powder, etc.).

These efforts reflect the Mission’s deep commitment to the well-being of mothers and children in underserved areas. More such camps are planned to ensure the continued success and outreach of the project.
