Medical Camp: Contai, August 2024

Ramakrishna Math, Contai, West Bengal


To mark India’s 78th Independence Day, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Contai, conducted a free medical camp on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Vivekananda Pally Bikash Kendra, Naipur, a remote rural area under Pataspur block, Purba Medinipur.

A team of seven specialist doctors provided treatment to 305 underprivileged patients. Eight paramedical staff and 20 volunteers from Vivekananda Pally Bikash Kendra assisted the medical team.

The camp was inaugurated at 11 a.m. by Dr. Sukumar Panigrahi, a renowned physician from Contai, in the presence of numerous patients, students, and villagers. The camp continued until 4 p.m. In addition to medical treatment, the doctors conducted health awareness sessions for the patients.

Swami Mayadhishananda, Secretary of the Sevashrama, oversaw the entire program. Patients from distant areas attended the camp, receiving free medicines.
