The Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa, Durban, successfully conducted a large-scale free medical outreach programme in Etete on 8 February 2026. This initiative was part of the Ramakrishna Centre’s ongoing commitment to provide high-quality, accessible healthcare to underserved communities, ensuring that specialized medical attention reaches those in need.
Clinical Services and Specializations
The outreach was designed as a comprehensive mobile health hub, offering services across a wide range of medical disciplines. A multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals provided consultations and diagnostic support in the following areas:
- Primary & Specialized Care: General Medicine, Paediatrics, and Surgery.
- Specialized Diagnostics: ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), Audiology (Hearing assessments), and Optometry (Vision care).
- Ancillary Support: A fully functional Pharmacy for immediate medication dispensing and Laboratory services for on-site diagnostic testing.
Impact and Statistics
The programme saw a high turnout, reflecting the significant need for medical services in the Etete region.
- Scope of Care: Every patient received professional consultation and, where necessary, immediate pharmaceutical or diagnostic support.
