Musical Tribute to Swami Vivekananda, Rajahmundry, Jan 2018

Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram is conducted a programme A Musical Tribute to Swami Vivekananda with the help of VVLN Sangeetha Sudha, Rajamahendravaram on 21st January 2018.

Pancharatna Keertanas were a set of 5 keertanas in karnatic classical music, composed by the 18th century Indian composer, Saint Thyagaraja. All the keert anas are penned in telugu except the first are which is composed in Sanskrit. The Pancharatna Keertanas are the fragrant gold of Karnatic Music.

The programme started at 8.30am with Jyothi prajwalana by Revered Swami Sukhatmanandaji Maharaj and Swami Kapalisanandaji followed by Nadaswaram. Vedapravachanam was chanted by Vedapandits.

At about 9.00 am Pancharatna seva was started About 150 musicians (Vocal, Flute, Violin, Mrudangam, Veena, Ghatam, Kanjeera) in this Seva. Programme started with Thyagaraja Keertanas. ‘sri Ganapathini sevimpare’ in Sourashtra Ragam followed by “Guru leka Etuvanti guniki Theliyakabothu”.

Later sang the Pancharatnas :

1. Jagadananda karaka : Nattai Ragam
2. Dudukugala : Gowlai Ragam
3. Sadinchine : Arabhi Ragam
4. Kana kana Ruchira : Rarali ragam
5. Endaro Mahanubhavulu : Sri Ragam

The Musicians in their respective slots were remarkable for their high devotional & musical quotient & enthralled the audience.

After Pancharatna Seva was completed, Swami Sukhatmananda Maharaj gave Swami Vivekananda Momentos and books to the participants.

All the participants took prasad at Math.
