Gadadhar Ashrama, Kolkata, celebrated National Youth Day on 12 January 2018. A colorful procession had been organised comprising of more than 2000 students from different schools and 300 devotees and admirers. The procession with banners/flags along with a student dressed as Swamiji on a Horse Carriage and 3 bands with four tableau van started from Harish Park at around 7:30 am. and proceeded through Harish Mukherjee Road, Hazra Road, Shyamaprosad Mukherjee Road, Ashutosh Mukherjee Road and again entered Harish Park around 8.30 am.
Thereafter a programme was organised at Harish Park from 9 am. to 10 am. Swami Amalatmananda, Adhyaksha, Gadadhar Ashrama, delivered the welcome address and thereafter Swami Sarvalokananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur and Dr. Arijit Sarkar, Professor, Liluah Engineering College delivered their speeches on the “Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda followed by a short cultural programme, wherein few devotional songs were sung by the students from different schools and recitations & speeches were delivered by them. The audiences have also enjoyed student’s participation on a short extempore and a programme on ‘Musical Yoga’.
Food packets were distributed along with books on Swamiji in Bengali, English and Hindi version among all the students and participants.
