National Youth Day 2018 at Rajahmundry

Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary and National Youth day was celebrated by Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram with great reverence, zeal and enthusiasm on  12 January 2018.

Youth Rally & Garlanding of Swami Vivekananda Statue:

The celebration began at 9.00 am with a procession from the Math to the Statue of Swami Vivekananda at Vivekananda Circle Kambal Tank. Swami Sukhatmananda and Swami Kapalisananda led the procession in which about 150 students, senior educationists of the town and devotees participated. Swami Vivekananda statue was profusely garlanded by Swami Sukhatmananda, devotees and guests a few of whom are

  1. Sri Sai Srikanth Varma, IAS, Sub – Collector, Rajamahendravaram.
  2. Smt. P. Rajani Sesha Sai, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Rajamahendravaram.
  3. Sri D.B.V. Raju, Well Wisher and donor.
  4. Sri S.P. Gangi Reddy, Director, Aditya Educational Institutions.
  5. Staff Members, Rajamahendri College for Women, SKR College for Women, Aditya College, Rajahmhendravaram.
  6. Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence Staff and Students.

Clothes Distribution to Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa & Bhavi Bharatam Students:

The Children of Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa & Bhavi Bharatam ( A Nutrition programme for children of slum areas.) recited prayers and sang songs in praise of Swamiji. Clothes were distributed to the needy children.

Youth Convention:

The Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram under the banner of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence conducted a Youth convention on the theme “Service to Man in Service to God.”

The programme commenced with Prayer and Vedic Chanting by Students of Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa. Swami Sukhatmananda in his benedictory address spoke on the significance and relevance of Swamiji’s teachings today.  He said that the youth have tremendous energy which is to be channelized. Swami Kapalisananda impressed on the youth the importance of teachings of Swami Vivekananda and urged for the need for a change in our attitude in line with Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.

The Chief Guest Dr. T. Vasu, Head of the Department of Telugu, Adikavi Nannaya University explained  Swami Vivekananda’s love for his motherland. The student delegates presented papers and posters on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Competitions in Poster presentation, Power point presentation, Verbal ability and Quiz were conducted and prizes were distributed to the prize winners.

An Exhibition of the posters and Art & Craft work of the students was displayed.  About 200 delegates from different colleges participated in the event. Snacks and lunch was served to all the participants.
