Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati celebrated the National Youth Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in grand way. The programme started with Vedic Chanting by Monks of the Ashrama, followed by National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” by the NCC, Pandu College. Lighting the lamp and floral tributes was done by the guests.
Swami Atmashuddhananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati welcomed the guests, devotees and youths. He urged the youth to take advantage of this occasion and know more about our country and Swami Vivekananda and dedicate themselves for the good of the nation.
Ms. Meera Kulkarni, Life Member, Vivekananda Kendra, Assam Pranta Sanghatak, in her guest of honor speech dwelt on the greatness of our motherland ‘India’ and Swami Vivekananda’s love for our motherland. She urged the youth to work hard for nation building.
Swami Kripakarananda delivered his inspiring talk on Swami Vivekananda, the icon for the youth. He said that Swami Vivekananda’s love for poor, ignorant and deprived section of people was based upon seeing God in them.
Finally, Swami Japeshwarananda delivered his vote of thanks and told the youth to follow the footprints of Swami Vivekananda to make our nation great.
Cultural Programme, speeches by the youth, songs, recitation, dance and yoga demonstration were performed during the programme. Silchand Troop of Morigaon and Vivekananda Kendra of Guwahati conducted Tiwa Langkhun Dance and Yoga demonstration respectively.
