Vedanta Society of Northern California, San Francisco participated in the online celebration of National Youth Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (75 years of Indian Independence) on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 organized by the Consulate General of India, San Francisco. Swami Tattwamayananda gave the keynote address highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s role in India’s freedom struggle. Swami Vivekananda was the main source of inspiration for the leaders of India’s struggle for national freedom. Swamiji’s life and teachings constitute an eternal source of guidance and inspiration for today’s young generation. Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, the Consulate General of India, San Francisco, while addressing the online audience paid tributes to Swami Vivekananda as the most important source of inspiration for the young generation of Indian diaspora in America today.
This was followed by a panel discussion by Young Entrepreneurs on the topic: ”India: An Inspiration” hosted by the Consulate General of India, San Francisco. The panelists, all young Indians who have distinguished themselves in various walks of life, spoke about the inspiration that they drew from ancient Indian culture and spiritual heritage as expounded by Swami Vivekananda in modern age.
