National Youth Day 2023: Mysuru

Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru celebrated National Youth Day on 12 January 2023. 1200 students from 13 schools including Ramakrishna Vidyashala, swamis, devotees, and teachers of Vidyashala participated in the celebration. In the afternoon at 3 PM, the students gathered in front of Swami Vivekananda’s statue in Cheluvamba Park. Swami Muktidananda ji, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru performed arati to Swamiji’s statue in the presence of swamis and devotees and teachers of Ramakrishna Vidyashala. After this, the students went in a public procession carrying banners and placards with Swamiji’s message. They were followed by a chariot carrying Swamiji’s giant portrait. The students then gathered in the Vidyashala campus and were served refreshments. This was followed by a one-hour programme on the NCC ground with Swami Muktidananda, Swami Yukteshananda, Swami Shivakantananda and Swami Mahamedhananda on the stage. Selected students from different schools then presented patriotic songs, recitations from Swamiji’s lectures, and talks on Swamiji in both Kannada and English. These students were given books and mementoes. All the students were served snacks at the end of the programme.
