The National Youth day was observed with usual enthusiasm at Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai on 12 January 2024.
- Competitions: The high school of the Students’ Home organised Tamil Oratory, Drawing and Recitation competitions. 262 students from 62 schools participated in the competitions.
- Sports: An inter-polytechnic college tournament was conducted on 11 and 12 January 2024 by the Polytechnic College of the Students’ Home, in Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Ball Badminton. Around 192 boys from 10 Polytechnic Colleges in Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur districts participated.
- Blood Donation Camp: Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home – Polytechnic College – National Service Scheme, RSS – HSS Blood Donation Bureau and Kilpauk Govt. Medical College Hospital jointly organised a Blood Donation Camp on 12th January 2024 from 09.00 a.m. to 02.00 p.m. at Vivekananda Auditorium of the Home. 81 units of blood were donated by the Monastic members of the Home, Students, volunteers and a few members of the public including an SI of the Mylapore Police Station.
A meeting was held on 12 January 2024, presided over by Smt. Bharathi Baskar, Motivational Speaker, Writer & Banker. She gave an inspiring talk on the ideas of Swami Vivekananda, and gave away prizes to the winners.Â
