National Youth Day 2024 : Hatamuniguda


The National Youth Day was celebrated with due solemnity on 12 January 2024 at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda. The programme started at 9.30 a.m. with garlanding of Swamiji’s statue amidst Vedic Chanting followed by recitation of Swadesh Mantra.

Various competitions like Yogasana, Painting, Quiz, Elocution and Essay Writing were organised among the students in three different groups from 5th to 8th January 2024. A total no of 377 students from 08 institutions participated in the competitions.

The concluding programme was held in the Vivekananda Hall on 12 January at 10 a.m. After lighting of the ceremonial lamp and offering of flowers to Swamiji’s portrait the programme started with an opening song. Three youth speakers spoke on different subjects – “Swami Vivekananda’s Contribution to World Thought”, “Swami Vivekananda : The Meeting of East and West” and “The Student life of Swami Vivekananda.”

Dr Pradeep Kumar Mishra joined as the chief guest on the occasion and spoke on “Swami Vivekananda – the Ideal Youth Icon”.  Dr Aurobindo Behera, IAS (Retd), Ex Member, Board of Revenue, Odisha presided over the programme and distributed prizes, certificates and a specially designed memento with Swamiji’s message to the winners of different groups in State Level competitions. The programme also included reading of selected passages from the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda and a few devotional songs on Swamiji.

A Yoga Dance performance was presented by the students.

Swami Gitatmananda, Secretary welcomed and introduced the guests. Swami Prabhuvarananda proposed a vote of thanks.

All were served with noon Prasad.
