The National Youth Day was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, with great enthusiasm.
In the morning, the celebrations started by offering flowers at the feet of Swami Vivekananda’s statues at SMT Township and on the campus, by monastic members, local colony people and the students. It was followed by a Youth Convention, which was held on campus. Around 120 students and youth participated.
The program included talks by eminent persons, a recitation of Swamiji’s speeches and quotations, and a cultural program by Vivekananda Vidya Niketan students. Merit Scholarships were distributed to 25 economically backward college students. All the students were fed with lunch prasad at noon.
In this connection, Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, conducted programmes in the following educational institutions:
- Govt. Polytechnic College for Women, Kadapa: 150 students
- Nirmala College of Pharmacy, SITS, Kadapa: 150 students
- SVR Engineering College, Nandyala, AP: 300 Students
- G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College, Kurnool, AP: 400 Students
- Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kurnool, AP: 150 Students
