National Youth Day was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode on 11 and 12 January 2024.
A procession with more than 400 students carrying placards of various sayings of Swami Vivekananda was organised on 11 January 2024. The procession had ceremonial umbrellas, traditional drums of Kerala called chenda, students from NCC, Scouts, Guides, Student Police Cadets (SPC), Junior Red Cross (JRC), and National Service Scheme (NSS) of the Kozhikode Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School. Some students were dressed as Swami Vivekananda and two teachers were dressed as Swami Vivekananda and Sister Nivedita.
On 12 January 2024, the programme began at 10 a.m. with the lighting of the traditional lamp. There were various cultural programmes like dance, group dance, poetry recitation, and speeches and continued till 7 p.m. Retired Sub-Inspector Sri Baby George of the Kannur Squad; Magician Pradeep Houdini; Assistant Sub-Inspector Ms Marzi C Rozario from the Kozhikode Juvenile Correctional Home; and local ward councillor, Ramya Santosh were the special guests. More than 2000 students and teachers attended the programme.
