The 12th of January, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day was celebrated with due solemnity and pomp at Ramakrishna Mission Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre. The Mangalarati started at 5.30AM followed by Vedic Chanting, Stotras and Bhajans at the birth place of Swami Vivekananda.
Sri Sudip Bandyopadhyay, MP along with Swami Jnanalokananda and other dignitaries, flagged-off a grand Shobhayatra that started at 9.00AM from Swamiji’s Statue. Around five-thousand students from 35 nearby educational institutions took part in the Rally, visited Swamiji’s House and received His blessings.
Shri Sudip Bandyopadhyay (MP), Smt Sashi Panja (MLA), Shri Abhishek Banerjee (MP) and Shri Subhendu Adhikary (leader of opposition) were among the dignitaries on this auspicious occasion. In the morning Devotional music was sung by different musicians offering their tribute to Swami Vivekananda.
In the afternoon was held a Dharma Sabha, which was addressed by Revered Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. He was flanked by Swami Jnanalokananda and Shri Pallav Mukherjee, MC member of Swamaji’s House. The courtyard of Swamiji’s House overflowed with the visitors throughout the day.
At least 40,000 people paid a visit to Swamiji’s House on this occasion; they were all offered laddu prasad and served by devoted team of volunteers.
